Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre is a hotspot because of these five beautiful coastal-front towns: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore.

Whether you want to enjoy a hike through the heights of an italian dream or just relax on a beach and breath in its romantic coastline, Cinque Terre is the right place to be!

Let’s explore Cinque Terre from an experience that had me wanting to come back for more.

We started in the beautiful town of Manarola.

This town is very small with only a couple places to grab a bite to eat.  A cone of gelato did it for us.

It has a walkway all around the outside coast so you can get a glimpse of it in all its glory.

Its coastal view is famous! You’ll definitely want to stop in this town! There’s a bench near a tree, or some hiking trails— Stop, Stare, and take it all in!

We hopped on a train to Monterossa al Mare. It was a cheap fare, but beware of pickpocketers. A lady on the train told us a story about how she caught another woman trying to slip her hand into her bag.

Monterosso al Mare is the largest town with an awesome beach! I truly wanted to dive right in, but March weather isn’t ideal for a beach soak.

We had lunch here. Most of the selection will be seafood, but we did see a burger joint, too.

Later, we took a boat shuttle for amazing views along the coast. I highly recommend this!

Whatever you do, don’t take a car to see Cinque Terre! These small towns barely have driving streets or parking.

The best ways to travel the towns is by train, or take a boat shuttle.
